Mirids species are found across the world.

Distantiella theobroma and Sahlbergella singularis are the main mirid pest found in Africa.

Helopeltis spp. are the main mirid pest found arcos south-east Asia.

Monalonion spp. are the main mirid pest found in Central and South America. 

 

They are mainly found in sunny open areas of the cocoa planting, for trees that in more direct sun have more shoot and leave growth.
